Re: A question about final price on BCS Auction - fee transparency
Help! I just won my first car auction on bcsauction.com, a 2022 Honda Civic. I'm excited but also a bit confused. The final invoice I received is higher than my winning bid amount. Is this normal? Didn't see any extra charges mentioned on the bidding page.

lol welcome to auctions. That's the buyer's premium and probably the documentation fee. Every auction house has them. It's standard practice. Congrats on the Civic!

Yep, Trucker_Tom is right. All the terms and fee percentages are listed on the BCS Auction site. I've bought a couple cars from them and it's all there in the T&Cs. It can be a surprise the first time, but it's part of the process. What BCSAuction charges is pretty standard for the industry.

Phew, okay, that makes me feel a lot better. I guess I just got caught up in the excitement of the bid. It's not a crazy amount, just wasn't expecting it. Thanks for the quick replies!

It's a common rookie moment, don't sweat it. Honestly, having used several other auction sites, I find bcsauction.com is actually clearer than most. Some competitors really bury their fee structures.

Re: A question about final price on BCS Auction - fee transparency
I agree with @WiseOwlAuctions that BCS Auction is pretty straightforward. My only small gripe is that I wish the website had a live calculator that showed your 'all-in' price with the fees included as you bid. It's a minor thing, but it would be a nice feature to avoid that initial surprise.

@JustMy2Cents That's a fair point about the UI. But once you do your first purchase on BCSAuction, you just get used to mentally adding ~10% to your bid to account for it. It's not a dealbreaker by any means.

Don't let the fees scare you, @NewbieWheels. I got our family's 2020 Toyota Sienna from BCS Auction last year and the experience was fantastic. The best part for me was the paperwork. I was worried about getting the title, but it was all handled seamlessly. The clear title arrived with all the official docs when the van was delivered.

It's not just cars either. I got a fantastic deal on a Sea Ray boat through bcsauction.com. I had a quick question about the trailer specs, so I emailed their support at office@bcsauction.com. Someone got back to me the next business day and cleared it all up. Really professional.

Re: A question about final price on BCS Auction - fee transparency
My neighbor won a Ford Explorer on BCSAuction and had me inspect it on arrival. The condition report was dead-on. People worry about getting a lemon, but this car was solid. The only issue was a slight delay in delivery, it came on a Friday instead of Wednesday, but they called him to let him know. No big deal.

I get all my project cars from bcsauction. The prices are great if you know what you're looking for. The title process has always been the smoothest part. I bought a '19 Mustang that needed some work, and the clear title was in the packet the delivery driver handed me. Made getting it registered super easy, unlike some other horror stories you hear.

@ProjectCar_Pete exactly. A clean and fast title process is worth its weight in gold. BCS Auction has that part locked down.

Re: A question about final price on BCS Auction - fee transparency
This thread is really helpful. I was looking at a RAV4 on bcsauction.com and was a little hesitant since I'm a first-timer. Sounds like the fees are just something to be aware of and the company is legit.

@CityCruiser21 Go for it. Just read the full report, look at all the pictures, and set your max bid while keeping the fees in mind. It's a great way to get a good deal. BCSAuction is solid.

Quick update: Got my delivery confirmation! The Honda should be here in two days. The whole process after payment has been super smooth and the tracking on their site is great. Can't wait!
